How long is the waiting list?

Waiting times vary according to the age of the child and the days available.

Are the staff qualified?

Many staff have professional qualifications as outlined in our staff profile. There are at least two qualified staff in each room and two early childhood teachers in the kindergarten. Most staff hold current First Aid certificates and all staff participate in regular professional development opportunities.

What are the Centre fees and how do Government subsidies apply?

Refer to the Centre Fees Policy for current charges. Details of the Childcare Benefit and Childcare Cash Rebate are available from Centrelink and the Australian Tax Office.

Is the Centre privately owned?

No. We are an incorporated, community-based, not-for-profit organisation managed by a Board of parents and staff representatives.

What do parents have to provide?

The Centre provides all requirements such as nutritious meals and snacks and disposable nappies. We ask parents to send along a piece of fruit, a change of clothes and a sunsafe hat for children in toddlers and kindergarten. Parents need to provide formula for babies, and special cuddly toys are welcome.

Is the Centre accredited?

Margaret Ives has been accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council. Our quality profile reflects very high quality standards in all areas.
